P.S. Arguably because the 1:13 scale Boeing 747 is also HUGE.

You can find the article I made about those 2 big models here: What Scale Are Model Planes?

An Aircraft

An aircraft is any type of man made object or machine that is able to by gaining support of air. It counters gravity by air lift using dynamic lift, jet engine, rocket engine or a propeller. Common examples of aircraft are airplanes, helicopters, airships, jet engine aircraft or a hot air balloon. There many types of aircraft based on its use namely: Military, Civil, Experimental and Model. Each has a different purpose and is very fun to study. That’s why it is fun reading such articles.

An Airplane

An airplane is a powerful winged aircraft. It uses thrust from engine such as rocket engine, jet engine or a propeller. Airplanes are used in so many ways such as military, research and transportation. Commercial Airplanes transport 4 billion people every year. This is the reason why airplanes are now a very significant part in our lives.

The word airplane came from two Greek words “ἀήρ”= which means air and “planos“= which means wandering. Airplane at the start usually refers to the wings. However, after a while, airplane now refers to the whole aircraft itself.

In 1903, Airplanes were invented by the Wright Brothers. They flew it and they characterized it as “the first sustained and controlled heavier-than-air powered flight”. From there, airplanes make a significant leap forward to the benefit of people. For example, the Boeing 707, the first widely successful commercial jet served the people for about 50 years.

Jet Engine Aircrafts

Jet Engine aircraft are a type of aircraft that uses jet engine propulsion in order to fly. Propeller powered aircraft generally achieve their maximum efficiency at much lower speed compared to a Jet engine aircraft that can even go to a close or even above the speed of sound.

An English inventor, Frank Whittle, developed the concept of a jet engine in 1928. After that, a German named Hans von Ohain developed the concept independently in the 1930s. This was sent to Ernst Hansel, who led to the construction of the first jet.

After that, the Jet engine aircraft soar the skies as it gets the attention of the whole wide world. There were just too many advances in technology as the jet engine upgraded and upgraded as it is now. It had a long way and that’s why it is so popular to us from childhood even up to now.

Buying an Aircraft Model

There are many factors not just on the Aircraft model itself, there are things inside the models that makes us want to have them. I know because I also felt on what you are feeling. You just can’t choose which one is right for you to buy in a certain circumstance. So I made this article and I hope I could help you in your decision because I definitely know that choosing which one to buy is a very complicated task to do.

Considerations in Buying

To help you in choosing, I have placed here some considerations you need to consider and we are going to tackle them up in my picks below.

We need to consider the following in buying a diecast model

  • Quality – We chose die-cast models because they are made with metals. These metals will bring great tensile strength and will ensure that what you are buying will last a long or even a lifetime with proper care.
  • Design – The aircraft’s design in itself. Is it the design that you just can’t resist when you see it? This is actually one of the most important aspect for some people in buying a diecast model for display purpose.
  • Name – Did it made an impact in the aviation industry? Is it named for someone important? We will definitely use this criteria in choosing the best model for you.
  • History – the history of the aircraft itself, did it have any significant impact in the industry? or did the aircraft make a huge impact of its company’s history? These things are difficult to forgo in buying because these aircraft are just amazing.
  • Emotion – Is it the aircraft that you usually get emotional with? We just can’t help it right? We just want to get one too. You want to have it so bad and you can’t wait to display it in your home. In buying, emotion is actually one of the forgotten factors in buying this model.
  • Achievements – If it had won an award or a milestone, any special mention of these will greatly ease our minds in choosing.

I have put all of these into consideration and I am proud to introduce my top picks on the best airbus diecast models that you may choose from.

Conclusion

Whatever you choose. Be proud of your decision. All the choices above are just absolutely amazing. You sill surely be happy as you put it into display or as a collection in your home. They are all amazing in each of their own way and I know that one of them will surely be the perfect one for you, depending on your preferences.

Choosing which one is for you is extremely hard, I have placed it my top picks for the airbus category. However, it you want a to look for other aircraft article, you may check my articles on the jet engine aircraft and helicopters here
